Singleton is a little village with a strong local community. It is however somewhere that you go through. I was on my way to Poulton from Wrea Green. It does cut out a great chunk of busy roads - and it's a nice drive too. The church is lovely, situated just around the bend from the Fire Station. It actually has a fire station! Its made of wood!

However I stopped, discovered a lost, or at least a misplaced, treasure. photographed the memorials and the church and then carried onto Poulton. Not that it is great place to stop.
Here are the photos. The originating pages are here and here. The Miller family is very prominent in this area there is also a pub called the Millers Arms.
For anyone with an interest in the Miller family this site is also of interest

The wooden Firestation, the road to the church is to the left. |
Singleton Firestation. I believe it is now an electricity sub-station. Surely it is a listed building. |
Fire Station to the right. Church road to the right also. The road to the left curls round and will ultimately join Garstang Road at what we call the Singleton Traffic lights |

Singleton Car Sales -Looks like it has been sold for building. |
Info here Built in 1924, the hall has been a focus of parish life ever since, but its use has reduced in recent years because of the building’s condition. The committee now needs to raise £275,000 to upgrade the building, which is in a Conservation Area, to provide the right venue for today’s activities. |
